Qualcomm plans to produce processors for budget smartphones
- ANot all users need high productive capacity in smartphones, many are limited to using simple functions that do not require expensive chipsets. It became known that especially for such consumers, Qualcomm begins production of weak processors for extremely inexpensive mobile devices.
According to the publication WinFuture, the processor line will be called QM215 and will not be associated with the Snapdragon line. The main consumer of devices based on processors will be African and Indian markets.
According to rumors, the new processor will be roughly comparable in power to the Snapdragon 410 or 425 series. It will consist of four processing cores, the frequency of which will not exceed 1.3 GHz.
At least one manufacturer has already expressed interest in using the chipset.
