Russian scientists have created a disinfecting film for the display of smartphones

Scientists from the St. Petersburg University of Information Technology, Mechanics and Optics have found a way to combine the protective and disinfecting properties in the film applied to the screens of gadgets. According to the press service of the educational institution with more than a century of history, a protective film was obtained in the laboratories that prevents the appearance of oily stains and destroys bacteria on its surface.
The active substances of the transparent film are zinc and tin oxides.
“We managed to ensure that the protective film became completely transparent, while at the same time reliably protecting from bacteria and firmly adhering to the screen,” said Sergey Evstropiev, one of the creators of the protective coating.
