Pixel 4, Galaxy S10 and Note 10 will be able to update GPU drivers using Google Play
- ANumerous owners of gadgets on Android in the near future will be able to update the drivers of the video processor, like a regular application, using only Google Play. This was made possible thanks to the collaboration of Google and Qualcomm. Drivers will be updated using the Android GPU Inspector utility.
At the end of 2019, Qualcomm announced that in the near future, users of devices on Snapdragon 865 and 875 will be able to update the GPU drivers themselves using Google Play. In a recent press release, the company announced a list of smartphones that will be able to take advantage of this opportunity earlier than others. The upgrade option will primarily be available on the Pixel 4, as well as the Galaxy S10 and Note 10, and a little later on other devices.
