Samsung's Indian factory shuts down due to pandemic
- AAbout 120 million units of Samsung mobile devices rolled off the assembly lines of the Uttar Pradesh plant annually. It was one of the largest production companies in the world. But in connection with the outbreak of coronavirus, the leadership of the South Korean concern decided to temporarily close the production lines. The plant in India became the second after the South Korean Gumi, closed due to a pandemic.
At present, almost half a thousand people in India are infected with a dangerous "Chinese" virus, 8 people have died. Mass events are canceled in the country and many industrial centers are closed. In particular, Vivo, LG and OPPO have previously announced the temporary closure of production lines in India.
Even the temporary closure of the plant will no doubt bring Samsung a loss, especially given the decrease in the purchasing power of the population, but thanks to this the Indian government will be a little easier to carry out measures to combat coronavirus.
