Analysts predict a rollback in smartphone sales to 2010 levels
- AA surge in coronavirus infections worldwide is affecting smartphone sales. The gradual annual decrease in smartphone shipments, which has been observed recently, should have been replaced by steady growth due to the use of new generation networks in new gadgets. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, optimistic plans were not destined to come true.
Employees of the CCS Insight analytical agency said that according to their calculations, smartphone sales this year will decrease by about a quarter billion units, or 13 percent compared to last year. That is, if at the end of 2019 we had 1.41 billion smartphones sold, then this year their number will decrease to 1.26.
Analysts believe that sales will recover in about four years.
