The new standard memory cards will allow them to accelerate by 400 percent
- AIn the near future, smartphones will be able to work with cards whose maximum data transfer rate can reach almost 4 GB per second. The other day, the SD Association, which is developing new standards for SD cards, has announced the eighth generation of memory cards, with a maximum performance increase of 400 percent.
Within the framework of the unified SD 8.0 standard, two types of interface will be used: fast with a throughput of up to 4 GB/s on PCIe 4.0 x2 and slow with a throughput of up to 2 GB/s on PCIe 4.0 x1 and PCIe 3.0 x2.
A new type of memory can be used to implement tasks requiring a high data transfer rate, for example, to work with 8K video format or to transfer a large amount of information through wireless communication. Cards will be compatible with previous generation readers.
