Google has acquired North

-
Last January, the Canadian company North launched the first generation of Focals augmented reality glasses. Unfortunately, the release cannot be called a successful one. The product was not very popular, which was largely due to high cost and design issues. At the end of this year, the second generation of glasses should have been released, but it was not destined to happen. Google Corporation acquired North, the details of the deal are currently unknown.

In a special statement, representatives of North notified customers about the termination of support and maintenance of the first generation of glasses, as well as the curtailment of all further work. The entire development team, with all the accumulated technology base, is transferred to Google.

Recall that North was founded 8 years ago and aimed to tightly integrate the latest technological solutions into people's everyday lives. The company's first development was a smart bracelet Myo, which supports gesture control.
