Critical TikTok vulnerability made it possible to steal phone numbers

-
The TikTok app is breaking records in popularity and its audience is approaching one billion. If not for the vigilance of cybersecurity company Check Point Research, the personal data of the app's millions of users, including phone numbers, could have ended up in the hands of cybercriminals.
The problem was in the "Search for friends" option and gave users the ability to create entire databases of sensitive data. Phone numbers and other personal data could have been used by cybercriminals to perform illegal actions, including phishing. The vulnerability has now been successfully fixed, but security should not be forgotten.

"We strongly recommend TikTok users to use its latest version, as well as the latest version of the operating system. In addition, do not enter a large amount of personal data when filling out your TikTok page," representatives of Check Point Research appealed to users of the popular application.
