The number of 5G network users may reach 3.5 billion by the end of 2025

Experts predicted that the past year was supposed to be the year of 5G-infrastructure, and the number of users of this network should increase exponentially, but in fact the bright prospects were not destined to come true because of the coronavirus pandemic. Nevertheless, the emergence of devices supporting the new standards and the ongoing deployment of 5G-networks are doing their job - the number of users is steadily growing and already stands at 200 million.

At a recent conference in Shanghai, a representative of Ericsson, a well-known brand of telecommunication equipment, said that today there are 123 5G networks in the world, with more than 200 million users. In terms of growth rate, 5G has already surpassed 4G. Ericsson believes that by the end of 2025, there will be at least 3.5 billion users of new generation networks in the world.
