Samsung revealed how the new autofocus system works
- AThe latest models of Samsung smartphones use an improved autofocus system, which allows for accurate focusing in a matter of moments to obtain sharp and high-quality photos even in poor shooting conditions. Representatives of the South Korean company recently decided to talk about this innovative autofocus.
One of the main differences between conventional focusing and Dual Pixel Pro is the large number of sensor pixels. While normally a small fraction of the total number of pixels is allocated for focusing, Samsung uses technology that engages every pixel.
The company's engineers managed to use not only the horizontal separation of phases, but also the vertical, which significantly accelerated the focusing. And finally, the updated technology has managed to eliminate some of the "weaknesses" of its predecessor Dual Pixel technology. Thanks to the presence of a lower and upper phase phase photodiode sensor, it is now no longer difficult to focus on striped subjects.
