Google Play introduces preferential taxation for all developers starting July 1
- ASince the beginning of this year, developers whose annual revenue does not exceed one million dollars pay the App Store not 30 percent commission, but 15 percent. Google decided to go even further and introduced preferential taxation for all developers without exception.
Starting July 1, all developers will receive a discount from Google. Now regardless of whether they are a large company or a start-up, from the first million of annual income they will pay 15 percent of the commission, rather than 30 percent. Then, from the second onward, income will be taxed at the usual 30 percent rate. The giant's executives believe this move is fairer, since all developers qualify for the rebate.
It is not clear yet whether preferential taxation will be activated automatically or developers will have to make a request to Google.
