Google is thinking about cleaning up obsolete and abandoned apps

-
On Google Play, despite regular cleanup efforts, there are a large number of apps that have not been updated for a long time, and their developers have not been active for a long time. "The Corporation for Good has decided to clear the branded store of such applications.

According to the company, old abandoned accounts can be easily hacked by hackers to carry out illegal activities. To prevent this unfortunate scenario, all applications with vulnerabilities and bugs that have never been patched will be deleted. All developer accounts which have not been active for a year will also be deleted. Only accounts managing apps with over 1,000 downloads or with payments made within the last three months will not be deleted.

At the moment, there is no information about when the new rules will take effect.
