The latest report from the analytical company Counterpoint Research has brought quite interesting results. At the end of the last year, the chipmaking industry leader has changed. Samsung was able to surpass its main competitor and headed the rating.

The success of South Korean company was mainly due to the high sales results of flash memory NAND and DRAM. At the same time, Intel showed stability, but without high performance.

Despite the local difficulties with the necessary volume of components and logistics, the semiconductor industry was able to show a 19 percent increase in revenue. The biggest growth in shipments was recorded by AMD, due to which the chipmaker moved up in the rating from 14th to 10th place. The top 5 chipmakers did not change, except Samsung and Intel, South Korean SK hynix, American Micron and Qualcomm are at the top of the ranking.
