Internet celebrates 25 years
- AInternet crossed another mark in its development. Distant 25 years ago, August 6, 1991, the first website was launched. Its author was Tim Berners-Lee, and provided a description of World Wide Web project on the first Web page in the world. The public launch took place only on 23 August, this date marked the start and spread of public Internet. The next major step in the development of technology has been the emergence of the first Mosaic web browser in 1993.
Berners-Lee's approach was an attempt to make the Internet a platform for academic cooperation, rather than a revolution. However, without a doubt, 1991 served as the start of a fundamental shift in the field of communications.
