Samsung with a gap leads in the ranking of the most popular smartphone brands
- AAt the end of the first quarter of this year, with a result of 77 million units, Samsung confidently took the first place in the ranking of suppliers, bypassing competitors. According to "Strategy Analytics", the share of the South Korean brand in the smartphone market was 23 percent.
Despite the pessimistic forecasts associated with the pandemic coronavirus, smartphone sales compared to last year even grew: in 2020, manufacturers were able to sell 275 million units of mobile equipment, and in the current period sales for the same amounted to 340 million.
Second place in the ranking with 57 million or 17 percent of the market was won by Apple, the third place was closed by Xiaomi with 49 million or 15 percent of the market.
It should be noted that HUAWEI left the top five for the first time in recent years. The Chinese company managed to sell less than 20 million units.
